ARTS UPDATE
GETTING TO PAINT
MORE
Getting to paint more by just
committing to doing it!! Without any fanfare or publicity a
dedicated group of plein air painters has emerged from the EMCA's
outreach. EVERY Monday afternoon they gather at the EMCA at
1:00PM sharp. From there they travel to to whatever
picturesque site has been chosen for that occasion. If the
weather is not conducive to outdoor painting the painters stay at
the EMCA and work on still life. Everyone brings a lunch and a
lively critique is held at lunch break, after which it is back to
painting for as long as they wish.
Joan Johnson and Lavona Daniels
were the organizers of this endeavor and the group has grown
steadily, not only in number but in the quality of the work they are
producing. It is a delightful and inspiring weekly
event. They welcome new painters. So if you would like
to give it a try call the Gallery at 836-3622. There is NO fee
and it is not a workshop or class....just painting. An exhibit
of their works is being planned.
WE have Cook Books "from the Cooks'
Garden" $25.00 plus sales tax. The book is by Ellen
Ecker Ogden with illustrations by Mary Azarian. The focus is
organic cooking.
